Marc Whitezell has extensive experience in the oil and gas industry. Marc currently serves as the Chief Engineer at Sentinel Peak Resources since May 2018. Previously, they worked as an Independent Energy Consultant at Marlin Enterprises, LLC since June 2014.
From May 2013 to June 2014, Marc served as the Technical Team Lead at LINN Energy, LLC. In this role, they supervised a team responsible for evaluating and developing new thermal heavy oil recovery projects. Marc implemented a steam injection optimization strategy that significantly increased oil production. Marc also played a key role in identifying prospective oil and gas properties, conducting technical analysis, and developing capital development plans.
Prior to that, Marc worked at Berry Petroleum Company from November 2012 to May 2013, initially as an Operations Supervisor for the Poso Creek steamflood project. Marc managed field operations, maintained production targets, and implemented safety standards. Marc introduced new well testing and workover techniques that improved field performance and reduced operational expenses. Later, as a Technical Advisor, Marc directed technical reservoir development efforts for the North Midway Shallow Thermal Diatomite development. Marc led a team and identified novel recovery techniques to improve project value.
Marc held the position of Technical Team Lead at Berry Petroleum Company from September 2010 to October 2011. Marc supervised a team that maximized oil recovery for a large thermal diatomite development, increasing production from 100 to over 5000 barrels of oil per day. Marc also managed project planning, depletion planning, and reserve estimation processes.
Earlier in their career, Marc worked as a Senior Reservoir Engineer from May 2007 to September 2010 and as a Production Engineer from May 2006 to May 2007.
Marc Whitezell has a strong education background in engineering and business administration. Marc began their academic journey in 2000, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University. Marc then went on to pursue further studies and completed a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same university in 2006. During this time, they also concurrently completed an MBA degree in Business Administration from Brigham Young University, shining a light on their interest in a multidisciplinary approach. In 2006, Marc Whitezell expanded their knowledge in the engineering field by enrolling at Texas A&M University, where they obtained a Master of Engineering degree with a specialization in Petroleum Engineering in 2010.
