Ryan O'Neal

MWSS Technical Team Lead at Sentinel Peak Resources

Ryan O'Neal has had a diverse work experience in the oil and gas industry. Ryan started their career at Chevron in 2007 as an Earth Scientist, where they focused on deep gas exploration in the Gulf of Mexico and asset development in Africa and Latin America. During their time at Chevron, they incorporated seismic data sets, interpreted sub-salt structures, generated prospects, and calculated volumes using a probabilistic approach. In 2012, Ryan joined Occidental Petroleum Corp. as a Sr. Geologist, where they planned and executed drilling projects, greatly exceeding performance targets and adding significant reserves. Ryan also studied and implemented new technology to analyze thin bedded pay. Most recently, Ryan has been working at Sentinel Peak Resources since 2017, initially as a Petroleum Geologist and currently as the MWSS Technical Team Lead.

Ryan O'Neal obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences from Utah Valley University, where they attended from 2002 to 2005. Ryan went on to pursue a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences from Brigham Young University. Ryan completed their master's program from 2005 to 2007.
