Sidney Eaton has a strong background in IT and network security. Sidney started their career as a Lead Network Technician at Ferris State University, where they performed security audits and developed numerous Java penetration testing tools. Sidney also managed a wide range of network equipment and served as an administrator for Cisco Clean Access, PacketShaper, DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.
In 2010, Sidney joined Sentinel Technologies as a Senior Network Analyst and quickly advanced to become a Team Lead. During their time at Sentinel, they played a key role in developing the CloudSelect Threat Exchange system for the company's SIEM component of Security as a Service. Sidney also managed cloud network infrastructure, supervised customer onboarding operations, and developed solutions tailored to customer needs.
Recently, Sidney has taken on the role of IT Solutions Team Lead at Sentinel Technologies, where they continue to build the Security as a Service portfolio and enhance CTX intelligence on a large scale. Sidney also analyzes customer environments for security intelligence and provides actionable and relevant security recommendations.
In addition to their work at Sentinel, Sidney has briefly worked as an Adjunct Faculty member at Baker College, where they shared their expertise with students.
Sidney Eaton, CCIE has a strong education background in the field of information systems and computer networking. They obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems with a minor in Computer Networking Systems from Ferris State University in 2007. Prior to that, they received a Certificate in Computer and Electronic Repair from Montcalm Area Career Center in 2001. Sidney later pursued a Master of Science degree in Information Systems Management with advanced studies in Network Security, eCommerce, and Integration from Ferris State University between 2007 and 2009. Additionally, Sidney holds various certifications including Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) obtained in 2012 and Fortinet Certified Professional Network Security (FCP) obtained in 2023.
