Elijah Hoole

Elijah Hoole has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Elijah is currently working at SenzMate IoT Intelligence as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, starting in 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Pieces as a Natural Language Processing Specialist starting in 2022.

In 2019, Elijah founded Kayal, where they led the design of the electrical system for an electric floating trash skimmer and raised funding through investments and grants.

From 2020 to 2022, they were a Co-Founder of Learning Tamil, where they co-created a Tamil as a second language course.

In 2021, Elijah worked at WSO2 as a Growth Engineer, where they conducted user data analytics, created visualizations, and set up automated pipelines.

Elijah also worked at Tech Ceylon Social Ventures as an IT and Education Lead, where they contributed to drafting and reviewing project technical feasibility studies.

In addition, Elijah served as an Assistant Lecturer at the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka, updating the programming module and organizing a 2D game development challenge.

Before that, they worked at Verité Research as a Consultant Analyst, tracking and analyzing press reporting, and at Resource Management Associates as a Junior Engineer, performing energy audits and researching wind power forecasting.

Finally, Elijah had an internship at Lanka Electricity Company Private Limited, where they worked on surveying coordinates, developed a new pole numbering system, and performed job costing and analysis.

Elijah Hoole's education history begins in 2013 when they attended the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka. Elijah pursued an Honours Degree of the Bachelor of the Science of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and completed their studies in 2017.

In 2021, Elijah Hoole furthered their education at The University of Edinburgh, where they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Artificial Intelligence. Elijah completed this program in 2022.

In addition to their formal education, Elijah Hoole obtained two certifications. In 2019, they completed a certification in "Probability - The Science of Uncertainty and Data" through edX. The following year, in 2020, they obtained a certification in "Machine Learning with Python-From Linear Models to Deep Learning" from the same institution, edX.
