Fabio Pereira

Fabio Pereira has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering and research. Fabio currently holds the position of Senior Engineer at Novus Diagnostics since November 2022. Prior to that, Fabio worked at Radisens Diagnostics from September 2017 to July 2022, where they held the role of Senior Engineer and R&D Engineer.

Fabio also has experience at Biosurfit, where they worked as an R&D Engineer from September 2014 to January 2017. Their responsibilities there included designing microfluidic devices, prototyping structures, handling CNC and laser machines, and developing lab-on-a-disc systems for various diagnostic measurements. Fabio also collaborated with external suppliers for optimization purposes.

Before their time at Biosurfit, Fabio worked as a Research Fellow at FCT-UNL (CENIMAT/I3N) & ITQB-UNL. During this period, they worked on multiple research projects related to microfluidic platforms for single cell studies and analysis. Their tasks included designing microfluidic devices, simulating chips, fabricating PDMS microfluidic chips, and producing electrodes through various lithography methods.

Fabio's work experience also includes a Research Trainee position, where they focused on impedance spectroscopy and characterization of parasitized cells in a microfluidic platform. Fabio developed electrical circuits, carried out computer programming in different languages, and gained experience with various software and hardware tools.

Fabio Pereira started their education in 2007 and completed their Master of Science (MSc) in Biomedical/Medical Engineering at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa in 2012. During their studies, they also had the opportunity to further their education at the Università di Pisa from 2010 to 2011, where they pursued another Master of Science (MSc) degree in the same field, Biomedical/Medical Engineering.
