George Xu

George Xu has worked extensively with academics, clinicians, entrepreneurs, and investors in the creation, planning and growth of emerging biotech companies. In his current role, George is responsible for defining and enabling Septerna’s strategies for advancing and capturing value from its research portfolio, including internal drug discovery efforts and external business development opportunities.

Prior to joining Septerna, George was a Senior Associate at Third Rock Ventures focusing on due diligence and new company formation, including the initial ideation and incubation activities that led to Septerna. Previously, he was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company serving biotech and pharmaceutical clients on R&D and commercial strategy.

George is academically trained as a scientist receiving his PhD in Biophysics from Harvard University. He also holds AB and SM degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Harvard University.
