Janine Avison

Janine Avison has a strong background in technical roles, with extensive experience in acoustic calibration. Janine started their career in 2000 at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL), where they worked as a Higher Research Scientist. During their 16 years at NPL, Janine specialized in sound-in-air acoustic calibration and played a key role in maintaining the UK's primary standard for sound in air. Janine gained expertise in various microphone calibration techniques and was involved in developing measurement systems, including procedures, uncertainty budgets, and software.

In 2016, Janine began working as a self-employed Technical Assessor in the field of Acoustic Calibration. Janine conducted technical assessments of acoustic calibration laboratories on behalf of the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) and Norwegian Accreditation (NA). Janine'sresponsibilities included evaluating laboratories' compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 standards.

Since 2018, Janine has been working at Sepura as a Conformance Team Support Engineer. Initially, they shared their time between mechanical testing and conformance activities, but more recently, they have been exclusively involved in conformance testing of radio products. Janine'stasks at Sepura include running automated test equipment, performing environmental testing, and conducting EMC testing at RF test houses.
