Karen Bellamy has extensive work experience in the IT field. Karen started their career at Anglia Clinical Audit & Effectiveness Team in 1994 as an Information Officer. Karen then joined Eastern Region Public Health Observatory in 2001 as an IT System Specialist. Karen worked their way up and became the IT Network Manager in 2007 and later the Head of IT & Network Security in 2010. In 2013, they joined Public Health England as an IM&T Manager until 2017. Most recently, Karen worked at Sepura as the IT Operations Manager starting in 2018.

Karen Bellamy attended Saffron Walden County High School with no specified start or end years. After that, they enrolled in Anglia Ruskin University from 1998 to 2000, where they studied Business Information Technology. In terms of certifications, Karen obtained the Certificate in Information Security Management Principles (CISMP) from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in July 2006. Karen then earned the ISEB Practitioner Certificate in Information Risk Management from Ultima Risk Management in April 2007. In January 2012, Karen obtained an Award in First Line Management from ILM. Karen later achieved the ITIL Certificate in IT Service Management from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in November 2013. Lastly, in October 2016, Karen obtained the Implementing ISO 27001 Practitioner certification from APMG International.
