Richard Travett

Specialist Software Designer at Sepura

Richard Travett has over 30 years of work experience in the software engineering field. Richard started their career in 1984 as a Student Engineer at Pye Telecommunications and later transitioned to a Software Engineer role from 1988 to 1992. In 1992, they joined Philips as a Software Engineer and worked until 1996. Richard then moved to Simoco as a Senior Software Engineer from 1996 to 2002. Richard's most recent role was at Sepura, where they worked as a Specialist Software Designer since 2002. In this role, they had specialist knowledge of protocol and RF stacks, particularly Tetra. Richard was responsible for designing and implementing Layer 3 functionality in the protocol stack on radios using Tetra digital communications. Additionally, Richard served as a Product Owner for one of the scrum teams and acted as a technical lead, overseeing the delivery of defined functionality from small development teams for standalone and integration projects.

Richard Travett attended the University of Plymouth from 1984 to 1988, where they obtained a B.Eng degree in Communication Engineering. Prior to their university education, Richard attended Exeter School, although specific details regarding the duration or field of study are unavailable.
