Steve McCloy has a strong background in software testing and engineering. steve started their career in 1994 as an RF Technician with The Technology Partnership, where they provided support for GSM handset development and performed RF test and measurement tasks. steve then progressed to the role of Design Engineer RF, where they solved time constraints for system development, designed transceiver chips, and optimized synth lock times for handsets.
In 1999, Steve joined TTPCom as a Software Engineer, where they designed and implemented an Engineering Mode utility for product development and performed interoperability testing of EDGE/GPRS modules. steve later transitioned to the role of Senior Software Test Engineer at Motorola, where they worked in an Agile software development environment and conducted automated testing of Services code. steve also performed independent black box testing of new phones prior to market launch.
In 2010, Steve took on contract roles as a Software Test and Integration Engineer at Sepura, where they generated multiple configurations of TETRA terminal software and captured and closed faults during regression testing. steve then worked as a Senior Test Engineer at Frontier Silicon, preparing test specifications and documentation for automotive DAB modules and associated software.
Throughout their career, Steve has demonstrated proficiency in test strategy development, test specification preparation, and software testing.
Steve McCloy attended the University of Hull from 1990 to 1994, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering with Honors (BEng Hons) in Electronic Engineering. Prior to that, from 1987 to 1990, they attended the Marine Radio College (Riversdale UK) and earned a Higher National Certificate (HNC) and Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Marine Radio, Radar, and Electronics. In addition, Steve McCloy completed the ISEB Foundation Software Testing plus Intermediate level, although the start and end years are not specified.
