Marcel Ribeiro-Dantas has a strong background in software development, data analysis, and bioinformatics. Marcel started their career in 2011 as a Researcher and Project Manager at Laboratório de Inovação Tecnológica em Saúde (LAIS/HUOL/UFRN), where they also served as a Lead Developer. In 2013, they became a Fedora Ambassador for the Fedora Project, where they promoted the project's values and technologies. From 2018 to 2022, Marcel worked at Institut Curie - Research Centre as an Early Stage Researcher, performing various roles including Software Developer and Data Scientist. During this time, they contributed to the development of the MIIC R Package and web platform and conducted statistical analysis and AI algorithms for breast cancer patient records. Marcel also had teaching roles at Sorbonne Université, where they conducted practical exercises and evaluated performance in the Systems Biology and Modeling class for master students. Currently, they are a Developer Advocate at Seqera Labs, utilizing their skills and experience to advocate for the company's products and engage with the developer community.

Marcel Ribeiro-Dantas has a diverse educational background in the fields of biomathematics, bioinformatics, computational biology, and health informatics. Marcel obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from Sorbonne University from 2018 to 2022, focusing on biomathematics, bioinformatics, and computational biology. Before that, they completed their Master of Science (MS) degree in Bioinformatics at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte from 2017 to 2018.

In addition to their formal degrees, Marcel has also pursued several certifications. Marcel obtained an Introduction to AWS certification from A Cloud Guru | A Pluralsight Company in November 2022. Furthermore, they completed a certification course on Causal Data Science with Directed Acyclic Graphs from Udemy in October 2019. Other certifications include Advanced Dimensionality Reduction in R and Dealing With Missing Data in R from DataCamp in May 2019, and A Crash Course in Causality: Inferring Causal Effects from Observational Data from Coursera in November 2018.

Marcel also possesses multiple certifications in programming and data analysis. Marcel completed courses such as Analyzing Election and Polling Data in R, Introduction to Tidyverse, and Intermediate R from DataCamp in 2018. Additionally, they obtained certifications in Introduction to R from DataCamp in February 2017 and Linux Essentials from the Linux Professional Institute in October 2016.

Prior to their higher education, Marcel graduated with a degree in Computer Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte. During this period, they specialized in industrial automation and biomedical engineering. Marcel also holds certifications in Yellow Belt from Lean Six-Sigma and Life Cycle Canvas (Associate) from Life Cycle CANVAS, LCC, Brasil, obtained in September and 2017, respectively.
