Executive Director, Commercial Operations at Sequel Med Tech

Carla Nikkel, RD, LD, CDCES, CDTC has a strong background in medical affairs and commercial operations. Carla currently holds the position of Executive Director, Commercial Operations at Sequel Med Tech, where they oversee the company's commercial operations. Prior to this, they worked at MannKind Corporation as Executive Director, leading the commercial operations and sales training department.

Carla has also held various roles in the medical affairs field. Carla served as the Region Director - West at Cognoa, where they successfully managed the region. Carla also worked at Zealand Pharma A/S as the Senior Director of Global Medical Affairs, responsible for building a medical affairs infrastructure to support the launch of therapeutics.

Before joining Zealand Pharma A/S, Carla worked at Valeritas as the Vice President of Medical Affairs, where they formulated and executed operational strategies for the medical affairs department. Carla also served as the Senior Director of Medical Affairs at Valeritas, leading a field-based team of medical science liaisons and overseeing clinical development planning.

Carla has additional experience in the medical industry, including positions at AstraZeneca, Amylin Pharmaceuticals, sanofi-aventis, and Nutrition Partners, Inc. In these roles, they demonstrated strong leadership skills and achieved notable success in promoting and supporting various pharmaceutical products.

Carla Nikkel, RD, LD, CDCES, CDTC received their Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from Oklahoma State University from 1987 to 2001. Carla completed an internship at Baylor University Medical Center in 1991 to 1992, specializing in Dietetic. In addition, they also completed a summer internship in Dietetics at St Francis Hospital in 1990. Carla has obtained additional certifications, including being a Certified Diabetes Technology Clinician from the Diabetes Technology Society (DTS) in 2016, and a Certified Diabetes Educator from the National Certification Board of Diabetes Educators in 2005.
