Gokce Demir has a range of work experience in the legal and compliance field. From 2002 to 2013, they worked as a Senior Associate Attorney at Bener Law Office, where they managed and supervised the corporate and employment law departments. During this time, they represented global and multinational corporations, such as IBM and MasterCard, on various legal issues. Gokce also represented foreign corporations in their M&A projects, conducting due diligence and drafting M&A contracts.
From 2014 to 2015, Gokce worked as a Contracts Coordinator at MDLIVE, Inc. Their responsibilities included drafting, negotiating, and reviewing various commercial contracts, as well as ensuring the efficient end-to-end contract process.
Since 2016, Gokce has been at Sequoia, initially working as a Contract Manager before being promoted to Compliance Manager. In these roles, they managed the company's compliance with IRS and governmental agencies in all 50 states. Gokce also handled contract management, including reviewing and negotiating contracts, and led the implementation of a Contracts Management System across multiple teams. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Compliance Manager at Sequoia.
Gokce Demir completed a Bachelor of Laws (J.D. Equivalent) degree in Law from Istanbul University, from 1995 to 2000. In 2001, they took part in an International Exchange Program in Law at Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law. In 2013, they pursued a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Comparative Law from the University of Florida - Fredric G. Levin College of Law.
Gokce Demir also obtained several additional certifications. In 2003, they registered with the Istanbul Bar Association. In 2017, they became a California Notary Public and completed certifications in Child Nutrition and Cooking and Stanford Introduction to Food and Health from Stanford University. In 2018, they obtained a certification in Contracts Law from Harvard Law School.
