David Lurie

David Lurie has extensive experience in special education and student services, currently serving as the Program Manager of Special Education and Mental Health at Cupertino Union School District since July 2020, while also holding the position of Director of Student Services at Bayshore Elementary School District since July 2018. Lurie has worked as a Special Education Coordinator at Sequoia Union High School District and previously served as Coordinator of Special Education at Alameda Unified School District. Prior roles include Curriculum & Instruction Specialist at Spectrum Center Schools and Programs, Program Specialist at Campbell Union High School District, and Director of Education at Stars Behavioral Health Group, where statewide oversight of integrated school and mental health programs was provided. Lurie's earlier experience includes serving as Director of Day Treatment Services/Principal at Edgewood Center for Children and Families and School Director at Achievekids. Lurie holds a Master’s degree in Special Education from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor’s degree in History from UCLA.
