Talia Cain

Talia Cain has a diverse work experience, starting from 2011 as a Summer Counselor Assistant at Carlsbad Performing Arts Academy. Talia then worked as a Tutor at America Reads and America Counts, where they helped improve the literacy and mathematical skills of 3rd-grade students. Talia also served as an Intern at Classroom of the Future Foundation, conducting research and assisting in office organizational tasks. Talia continued their tutoring work as a Tutor at Friendly Center, where they worked with K-5th-grade students on various subjects.

In 2014, Talia joined Boys and Girls Clubs of Carlsbad as a Youth Development Professional, organizing educational activities and leading field trips for camp members. Talia was promoted to a Bus Lead position, where they coordinated field trips for up to 175 kids and ensured smooth programming.

In 2016, Talia became a Tutor at Woodside High School, providing homework help and English language skills support to K-5th-grade students. Talia also interned at Freedom Writers Foundation, developing curriculum units based on The Freedom Writers Podcast series for high school teachers.

Talia's work at Chapman University involved teaching and assisting. As a Student Instructor and Teaching Assistant, they taught various courses and designed enriching materials for middle school journalism programs. Talia also served as a Writing Project Coordinator, supporting undergraduates completing fieldwork at Yorba Linda Middle School. Additionally, Talia worked as the Dean's Office Assistant at Attallah College of Education in Chapman University from September 2017 to an undefined end date.

Currently, Talia is working for Sequoia Union High School District as a High School English & Drama Teacher and Sequoia Drama Program Director.

Talia Cain holds a Master's degree in Theatre Studies in Production and Design from Southern Oregon University, which they obtained from 2023 to 2025. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Education degree from Stanford University from 2019 to 2020. Talia completed their Bachelor's degree in Integrated Educational Studies and English Literature from Chapman University between 2016 and 2019. Additionally, Talia attended New York University in 2015, but did not obtain a degree. Talia also has a certification in CPR and First Aid, although the details of its acquisition are not provided.
