Kate Smith

Kate Smith is an experienced professional in the fields of music and academic advising, currently serving as the Advancement Operations Manager and a hired chorister and soloist at Knoxville Opera since March 2023. Concurrently, Kate is a hired vocalist at Sequoyah Hills Presbyterian Church. Previously, Kate worked as an Academic Advisor at Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, utilizing appreciative advising techniques to support undergraduate students, and as an Enrollment Specialist at the University of Pittsburgh School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, where responsibilities included enhancing enrollment strategies and facilitating recruitment events. Earlier experience includes roles as a hired vocalist at Third Presbyterian Church of Shadyside and as a Graduate Assistant of School of Music Admissions at Carnegie Mellon University. Kate holds a Master of Music in Music Performance from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor's degree in Music from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
