Hamad Haider has worked in a variety of roles since 2016. In 2016, they were a Peer Mentor at the CCNY Student Life and Leadership Department, where they aided 38 mentees with the transition to college life and facilitated a one-hour seminar weekly. In 2017, they worked as a College Assistant at the Morris Raphael Cohen Library. In 2018, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Nanoparticle Modification and Assembly Laboratory, where they evaluated orientational motion of synthetic colloids near an oil/water interface and fabricated Janus particles. In 2019, they were a Process Engineering Intern at Lonza, where they developed methods to perform Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis and increased process throughput by 75%. In 2020, they were a System Engineer I at Newport News Shipbuilding, a Division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, where they modeled the shipbuilding processes to address recurring issues and deployed continuous improvement initiatives. Currently, they are a Process Engineer II and Process Engineer I at Serán Bioscience.
Hamad Haider obtained their High School Diploma from DeWitt Clinton High School in 2014, where they were part of the Einstein Honors Program. Hamad then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from The City College of New York, which they completed in 2018. In July 2020, they obtained the FE (Chemical Engineering) certification from NCEES.
