Asuncion Martinez

Asuncion Martinez is a highly experienced professional in the field of microbiology and functional screening, currently serving as Senior Director of Microbiology and Functional Screening at Seres Therapeutics since May 2016. In this role, Asuncion leads the R&D team for SER-301, focusing on developing in vitro assays to characterize the microbial strain library, aiming to advance pre-clinical programs in infectious diseases, inflammatory diseases, and immuno-oncology. Prior to Seres Therapeutics, Asuncion held notable positions at Joule Unlimited Technologies, Inc. and MIT, where contributions included leadership in screening and research development.
