Petro van Heerden

Petro van Heerden is an experienced procurement and contract management professional, currently serving as the Manager Project Procurement at Seriti Resources since November 2021. In this role, Petro focuses on developing and guiding the implementation of contracting and procurement strategies for major projects and is responsible for the commercial and contract management of significant capital projects. Prior experience includes roles at South Africa Energy Coal and South32 as a Category Lead, and multiple positions at BHP, where responsibilities spanned category management, cost reduction projects, and on-site contract management. Petro began the career at BHP Billiton - Khutala Colliery, initially as a Contracts Manager and later as a Capital Accountant overseeing capital budgets for Eskom and BECSA. Petro holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance and Financial Management Services from UNISA.
