James Williams

James Williams is a co-founder and CEO at Sero since January 2018, where they are working towards accelerating decarbonisation in housing through partnerships. James is also involved with Sero Homes, a zero-carbon housing developer, since the same time, where they focus on building better places, communities, and futures while setting the benchmark for smart, zero-carbon, and sustainable housing.

Prior to this, from 2013 to 2018, Williams worked at Eco2 Ltd as the Head of New Business. In this role, they played a key part in developing and financing waste wood biomass projects. James was responsible for EPC selection and contract negotiation, liaison with key stakeholders, coordination of the planning process, management of the grid connection application, and environmental issues.

Before joining Eco2 Ltd, Williams was a Senior Design Engineer at Meritor from 2012 to 2013, where they utilized their expertise in design engineering. James also worked at Triumph Motorcycles from 2009 to 2012, initially as a Design Engineer in Chassis Engineering, and later as a Senior Design Engineer in the same department. In these roles, they were responsible for various design tasks, including finite element analysis, coordinating chassis testing, and supporting the introduction of a new motorcycle to mass production.

Williams started their career at Renault F1 Team in 2004 as a wind tunnel technician, where they gained valuable experience in Aerodynamics research, development, and testing.

Overall, James Williams has a diverse background in project management, business development, design engineering, and motorsport research, contributing to the decarbonisation of housing and the development of sustainable communities.

James Williams attended Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd from 2004 to 2008, where they earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering (MEng). In 2016, they briefly studied at Middlesex University, obtaining a Postgraduate Certificate in Mechanics of Project Finance. Prior to higher education, James attended Bassaleg School, although no specific degree or field of study information is available for this period.
