Jennifer Owens

Jennifer Owens has extensive experience in communications and media relations, currently serving as Assistant Director of Communications and Executive Speechwriter at SEIU since October 2017. Owens has held multiple roles within the organization, including Communications Program Manager and Senior Communications Specialist, focusing on campaign strategy development, media outreach, and the cultivation of relationships with local press in various cities. Prior experiences include Deputy Communications Director at Fight for $15, where Owens organized media events and developed campaign spokespeople, and various roles at CBS Radio, where Owens managed programming and traffic coordination. Owens began a career in broadcast journalism with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
