Bill Valus

Bill Valus started his career in HVAC in 1988 after obtaining a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Clarkson University. Immediately after graduation, he began working at Encon Heating & Air Conditioning located in Stratford, Connecticut. Bill became an expert in the trade and quickly worked his way up the ranks taking on various leadership roles in all aspects of the business including sales, installation, and service. In 2004, the company owners approached him with an opportunity to be part of their succession plan as they contemplated retirement in the coming years. Bill, along with one partner, officially became the co-owners of Encon by the end of 2007.

After successfully leading Encon through the 2008 recession, they grew the business from 152 to 230 employees, while maintaining the company’s profitability and outstanding reputation in Connecticut & Westchester County, New York. By 2014, Bill and his partner had developed a dedicated management team to run the day-to-day operations. At this time, they also began discussions with Service Logic and started exploring various options to continue Encon on its growth trajectory and create advancement opportunities for key employees.

Service Logic purchased Encon in September of 2016, which was their first acquisition of a company located in the northeast. Over the next two years, Bill transitioned out of his operational leadership role at Encon and helped Service Logic expand their footprint throughout the region. He became Service Logic’s Northeast Regional President in 2018.

As President of the Northeast Region, Bill oversees various operating units that Service Logic has acquired from the Washington DC Area to Boston’s North Shore. He works closely with the leaders at each location to develop strategic plans and implement initiatives to maintain high standards and drive future growth. Bill also seeks to identify prospective acquisition candidates in the northeast to serve as stand alone business units or to be integrated into other Service Logic locations.
