He is currently the first vice president of the Board of Directors of Legal Services of Puerto Rico. He is the representative to the Board of Directors of the clientele of the Arecibo, Utuado, and Manatí region since 1981. He stands out for being an active leader in the defense of human rights and the protection of the environment. He has been involved in the struggles of the communities affected by the proposed construction of the Northern Gas Pipeline and the incinerator in Arecibo, and also against the indiscriminate proliferation of the installation of telecommunications towers. He worked in the Puerto Rico Job Corps and for five years worked in the billing area of the District Hospital for the Department of Health. He is currently retired from the government of Puerto Rico.
