Bev Coomber

Bev Coomber has over 21 years of work experience in various accounting and finance roles. Bev started their career at Nexen Inc. as an Operations Accountant, where they gained experience in production accounting, regulatory reporting, and joint venture accounts receivable. Bev also played a key role in implementing billing systems and SAP software.

Later, Bev joined Weatherford as an Operations Accounting Supervisor, where they managed a team and improved inventory controls and pricing accuracy. Bev was subsequently promoted to Branch Controller, leading a team responsible for full-cycle inventory and accounting. Bev contributed to improving the month-end close process and played a key role in sales quotes and presentations to large customers.

Currently, Bev is working at Servus Credit Union, where they have served in various roles. As the Senior Manager of Accounting Operations, they led a team responsible for the full-cycle accounting of the Credit Union and was involved in goal setting, performance planning, policy development, and internal controls. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they also served as the Acting Director of Accounting Operations, overseeing a larger team and successfully transitioning to a remote work environment.

Throughout their career, Bev Coomber has demonstrated strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a focus on process improvement.

Bev Coomber obtained a Bachelor of Accounting Science degree from the University of Calgary from 2001 to 2003. Prior to that, they completed a Business Administration degree with a specialization in Accounting from NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) from 1998 to 2000. Bev then pursued further professional education, earning a CPA, CGA designation from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) from 2000 to 2005. Additionally, they obtained a Canadian Assocation of Petroleum Production Accountants (CAPPA) certificate from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) from 2000 to 2006.
