Jim Hooper

CCO & VP at SES Government Solutions

Mr. Jim Hooper joined SES Government Solutions (SES GS) in January 2010. He currently serves as the Chief Commercial Officer and a Corporate Vice President at SES GS. In this role, Mr. Hooper’s team is responsible for leveraging the global satellite capabilities that SES operates at geostationary and medium earth orbit (MEO) to deliver superior satellite communications (SATCOM), hosted payloads, and end-to-end solutions to the US Government. SES GS currently supports mission-critical operations in support of Combatant Command (COCOM), Military Service, and other US Government customers, while working with US Government customers to prepare for the deployment of next-generation SES satellite capabilites, including the advanced O3b mPOWER satellite constellation scheduled for launch in 2022.

Previously, Mr. Hooper was responsible for developing SES Networks strategic customers in the Asia-Pacific region. He prepared and executed strategies for aeronautical, maritime, international government, and other commercial markets.

Prior to transferring to the Asia-Pacific, Mr. Hooper managed marketing, sales, business development, capture, and proposal writing activities for U.S. Government customers as the Corporate Vice President for Development at SES Government Solutions. Mr. Hooper transformed the SES Government Solutions approach to business development and pipeline management. SES Government Solutions won over $100M in new contract awards every year under Mr. Hooper’s tenure at SES Government Solutions.

Mr. Hooper was previously a Vice President at Interferometrics, Inc., where he managed the Defense Solutions Group, providing analytic and engineering support to space and communications customers.

Mr. Hooper was selected as an Organizational Management Fellow at George Washington University. His early career includes service in a light infantry company, assignment at the American Embassy Seoul, and work at Teledyne Brown Engineering. Other awards include a US State Department Meritorious Honor Award.
