Jay Icard

Jay Icard has extensive work experience in various leadership roles within the aerospace and defense industry. Jay is currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Strategic Development at SES Space & Defense since October 2022. Prior to this, they were the President and Chief Executive Officer at XTAR from March 2018 to November 2022. Before that, they held the position of Senior Vice President of Strategic Sales at Comtech Command & Control Technologies from February 2016 to February 2018.

Jay Icard has a strong background in business development and program management. Jay worked at Comtech Command & Control Technologies from September 2004 to February 2016, where they held the position of Group Vice President. In this role, they successfully managed multiple US Department of Defense (DoD) business development activities, including strategic capture management, proposal development, and establishing strategic partnerships.

Prior to their time at Comtech, Jay Icard worked at Oracle as the Director of Federal Alliances from August 2002 to October 2004. Jay also gained valuable experience at MCI as a Senior Manager of Program Management from July 1997 to August 2002.

Their career in the aerospace and defense industry began at Vredenburg, where they served as a Program Manager from January 1988 to June 1997.

Throughout their career, Jay Icard has demonstrated exceptional leadership and success in capturing strategic contracts, including multi-billion-dollar awards from the US DoD and Department of Homeland Security. Jay is skilled in managing cross-functional teams, developing pursuit strategies, and building strong customer relationships.

Jay Icard attended Frederick High / Middletown from 1979 to 1982, although no degree or field of study is provided. Jay then attended Widener University from 1982 to 1987 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Later, from 1997 to 2000, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Telecommunications Management at the University of Maryland Global Campus.
