Prior to this, Usman worked as a Service Engineer at Ericsson Pakistan, providing technical support and troubleshooting for various regional customers, and as an O&M Engineer intern at Huawei. Usman holds a BS in Communication Systems Engineering from the Institute of Space Technology, obtained in 2008.
