Miriam Rivera

Trustee at Sesame Workshop

Miriam Rivera is a trustee at Sesame Workshop and has previously worked at Kauffman Foundation, Minerva Project, and Rock Center for Corporate Governance at Stanford. Miriam has also been a member of the Stanford Graduate School of Business Advisory Council and Online Education Committee. In 2010, they co-founded Stanford Angels & Entrepreneurs.

Rivera has extensive experience in financial auditing and raising capital for startup companies. As the Chief Operating Officer/General Counsel at Minerva Project, they oversaw a $49 million Series B raise for the company. Miriam also has experience in developing and managing student services and disciplinary processes, as well as organizing conferences on venture capital topics.

Miriam Rivera received their AM in Spanish (Latin American/Caribbean Literature) from Stanford University. Miriam then went on to receive a fellowship in Venture Capital from Kauffman Fellows. Miriam then obtained their MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business. After that, they attended Stanford Law School and received their JD. Finally, they received their AB in Sociology from Stanford University.
