Daniel Smith-Kirkham currently serves as the Sr. Grants Administrator at the SETI Institute, a position held since August 2022. Prior to this role, Daniel accumulated extensive experience at the Silicon Valley Community Foundation from October 2018 to January 2022, advancing through various positions related to grants. Previous work experience includes roles as a Line Cook at Butcher’s Kitchen CHAR-B-QUE, an MSW Intern at the Louisiana Public Health Institute, and a Direct Support Professional at Hope Healthcare Services. Daniel began professional pursuits as an Adoption Specialist at the Nevada Humane Society. Academically, Daniel holds a Masters of Social Work in Social Policy Research and a Graduate Certificate in Global Social Work from Tulane University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with a focus on Cognitive and Behavioral studies from the University of Nevada, Reno.
