Karl Kowalske is the President of Seven Generations Architecture and Engineering, LLC, a tribal-owned firm specializing in architecture and engineering services since September 2020. Previously, Karl held various leadership roles at Progressive AE, including Director of Practice Development, Healthcare and Senior Living Practice Leader, and Healthcare Client Leader, where responsibilities included practice leadership, healthcare planning, project management, and client relations. Karl's earlier experience includes serving as a Principal and Project Manager at Diekema Hamann Architecture, leading healthcare design, and working as a Project Architect and Intern Architect at various firms. Educational credentials include an MBA from Michigan State University, a Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Michigan.

Seven Generations Architecture & Engineering (7GAE) was founded in 2012 and is a Tribally-Owned, 8(a), Small Business that is wholly owned by Mno-Bmadsen, the investment enterprise of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi. Seven Generations A+E is located in Kalamazoo, Michigan. We partner with purpose and intention alongside our clients on Tribal, Federal, and community projects. 7GAE has established a tradition of sustainable solutions inspired by our Indigenous lineage and the understanding that today’s generation is responsible for the prosperity of generations to come. Our collaborative, inter-disciplinary skillsets include research, planning, architecture, engineering, and interior design with a human-centered approach to creative solutions for built environments.
