Penelope McCourty

Artist Corps Member at Park Avenue Armory

Penelope McCourty is an experienced dance educator and artist with a distinguished career spanning over two decades. Since August 2012, Penelope has served as the Upper and Middle School Dance Teacher at The Berkeley Carroll School. Concurrently, Penelope has been an Artist Corps Member at Park Avenue Armory since February 2011 and a Teaching Artist at New Victory Theater since September 2004. Previous roles include Co-Director of Education at Brooklyn Arts Exchange and Director of Programs at School Settlement Association, where key services were provided to local youth and families. Penelope's extensive background also encompasses positions such as Education Director at BAX/Brooklyn Arts Exchange, Dancer with Reggie Wilson/Fist and Heel Performance Group and Liz Lerman Dance Exchange, and Performance Director at Elders Share the Arts. Penelope holds a degree from Hunter College, obtained between 1991 and 1994.
