Jon Powell

Managing Partner at SeventySix Capital

Jon Powell is a successful entrepreneur, real estate developer and innovator. He is a Managing Partner of SeventySix Capital that invests in startup sports betting, esports, and sports tech companies. DraftKings and fuboTV recently acquired 2 of SeventySix Capital’s portfolio companies.

Over the past several decades, Jon has also been involved with many startup enterprises, including the Philadelphia Stars of the United States Football League, technology ventures, and several communications projects.

Jon Powell and his Powell Family Foundation have recently partnered with MainLineTV.org to produce two Emmy nominated and Telly Award-winning documentaries: “Kensington in Crisis” and “Life without Parole: The Story of George Martorano.” “Kensington in Crisis” brings attention to the opioid crisis in Philadelphia and the the impact of drugs on society and the need for more treatment programs and ways to address mental health needs. “Life without Parole” focuses attention on prison reform and our justice system by highlighting the injustices and sequence of events that kept Philadelphia resident George Martorano in federal prison for over three decades. Jon remains steadfast and committed to socially responsible issues using documentaries and charitable organizations as an impetus for change.

Jon is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a Master’s degree from the University of Oregon. He is also an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and holds active real estate licenses in Pennsylvania and New York.

Jon is an avid endurance athlete, having completed multiple Ultraman competitions and the Furnace Creek 508, known as the toughest 48 hours in sport.
