Ed Sutherland has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Ed is currently serving as the Chief Audit Executive at the Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans. Prior to this position, they held various roles at the Louisiana Division of Administration, including Director of MECCA and Manager of Compliance & Monitoring. Ed also has experience as the Captain/Chief Svengali of the Fat City Drum Corps and as the Manager of Anti-Fraud & Forensics at Hammerman & Gainer Inc. Ed started their career as a Senior Auditor at Aon and later worked as a Senior Investigative Analyst at CNA Insurance. Ed's early experience includes an internship as a Risk Consultant at Arthur Andersen LLP.
Ed Sutherland obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication from Louisiana State University, where they attended from 1995 to 1999. Ed later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Finance/Internal Audit from Louisiana State University, completing it from 2000 to 2002. In addition to their degrees, Ed Sutherland has obtained two certifications: Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA) from IIA-The Institute of Internal Auditors in November 2005, and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) from the same institution in May 2004.
