Gemma Shusterman

Gemma Shusterman is a seasoned software engineering manager with extensive experience in web application development and project management. Currently at the San Francisco Estuary Institute, Gemma oversees projects, manages direct reports, and collaborates with external stakeholders while handling budgets and timelines. Previous roles include freelance web design and development at Atomicbee Studio and web producer at Discover Magazine, where Gemma managed code development and media production. Gemma's technical skills encompass JavaScript, PHP, Python, HTML/CSS, and GIS technologies, alongside experience in project reviews for ACM SIGGRAPH. Gemma holds a Master’s degree in Media Arts and Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Mills College.
