San Francisco Estuary Institute

The San Francisco Estuary Institute (SFEI-ASC) is one of California’s premier environmental science organizations. Our mission: provide scientific support and tools for planning, designing, and decision-making. We conduct independent research to assess and improve the health of the waters, wetlands, wildlife and landscapes of San Francisco Bay, California, and beyond. Our skilled scientists and technology experts provide data and tools that empower government, community, and industry to implement cost-effective solutions for complex environmental challenges. We have three primary programs – Clean Water, Resilient Landscapes, and Environmental Informatics – that together bridge the divide between decline and adaptation.
