Barbara Fontanellaz

Dr. Barbara Fontanellaz is the current Director at SFIVET. Barbara has previous experience as the Leiterin Fachbereich Soziale Arbeit und Prorektorin at FHS St.Gallen, Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften from January 2014 to December 2020. Prior to that, they were with ZHAW Zürcher Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften from January 2008 to December 2014 where they were a Mitglied der Departementsleitung sowie Abteilungs‐ und Studiengangsleiterin Bachelor Soziale Arbeit.

Before their stint at ZHAW Zürcher Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften, they were with Universität Zürich | University of Zurich from January 2001 to December 2008 as an Assistentin am Institut für Erziehungswissenschaft. Her first job was with Zentrum Rötel (Sozialpädagogik für Kinder und Familien) from January 1996 to December 2004 where they were a Sozialpädagogin und Gruppenleiterin. Barbara started their career in 1989 as an Applikationsprogrammiererin at Credit Suisse and worked there until 1996.

Barbara Fontanellaz has a Doctor of Philosophy in Social Pedagogy, Social Psychology, and Philosophy from the University of Zurich. Barbara also has a degree in Education, Social Psychology, and Philosophy from the same school. Additionally, they are a certified application programmer from the Informatiker-Schule der Credit Suisse Zurich.
