Barbara White

Barbara White's work experience includes serving as the Chief Medical Officer at SFJ Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since September 2021. Previously, they held the position of Chief Medical Officer and Head of Research at Corbus Pharmaceuticals from June 2014 to January 2022. Barbara also founded and served as the President of Barbara White Consulting, LLC, providing consultative services for research and development of new medicines in areas such as rheumatology and dermatology.

Prior to that, they held various senior roles, including SVP and Head of R&D at Stiefel, a GSK company, and VP and Head of Immunology Therapeutic Area at UCB. Barbara also held leadership positions at MedImmune, where they were Vice President and Therapeutic Area Head for Inflammation and Autoimmunity, and at Amgen, where they served as a Medical Director in the Inflammation Business Unit.

Earlier in their career, they worked at the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center as the Associate Chief of Staff for Research Service, where they grew and administered the research group to become the top VA-funded research group in the country. Barbara also served as a faculty member at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where they held the positions of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor of Medicine.

Barbara White's education history includes various institutions and degrees, indicating their extensive training in the medical field. Barbara pursued their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Mathematics at Wilson College. Barbara then attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, where they obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with a specialization in Medicine. Following this, Barbara engaged in further training at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, completing an Allergy and Immunology Fellowship, a Rheumatology Fellowship, and an Internal Medicine Residency Program. Additionally, they received T cell immunology education at the National Institutes of Health.

Barbara White also holds several certifications. Barbara is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Internal Medicine (Rheumatology), the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, and the National Board of Medical Examiners.
