Senior Credit Advisor at SG Credit

Lon Brown is currently advising specialty finance companies in the areas of credit underwriting, portfolio management and general corporate strategy. He retired in 2018 after 12 years as a Managing Director of Bracken Capital, f/k/a ColumbusNova MB (“CNMB”). At CNMB, Lon’s primary duties were likewise credit underwriting and portfolio management within the Company’s middle market net lease investment program. He also spearheaded efforts with respect to specialty finance company investment, along with the management of affiliate company loan portfolios. Prior to joining CNMB, Lon was a Managing Director of Hampshire Advisory Partners, an affiliate of Hampshire Equity Partners, a NY-based private equity firm. As part of his role with Hampshire Advisors, Lon was charged with developing the Southeast as a market for private equity transaction sourcing. Prior to joining Hampshire, Lon was a Managing Director with Patriarch Partners, an asset manager focused on the acquisition, securitization and value enhancement of distressed debt. Prior to Patriarch, he spent 15 years with Bank of America and its predecessors, with his final title being that of Managing Director in the Global Corporate Investment Bank’s Special Asset Group.

Lon has served on the Boards of Directors of Transcription Relief Services, LLC a North Carolina-based medical transcription services provider and Galey and Lord, Inc., a market leader in woven sportswear and denim fabrics. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa, and an M.B.A. from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, where he was a Fuqua Scholar and Fuqua Fellow.
