Almut Schwenke

Project Manager R&d Battery Solutions at SGL Carbon

Almut Schwenke is an experienced project manager at SGL Carbon, specializing in R&D for battery solutions, 3D printing, and advanced ceramics. Since September 2016, responsibilities have included the development of new materials for lithium-ion battery anodes, advanced ceramics for high-temperature applications, and leading initiatives in carbon fiber textiles and porous carbon materials. Almut has also been involved in new business development for cleantech applications such as catalysis and water treatment. Prior to SGL Carbon, Almut worked as a research assistant at FSU Jena, focusing on microwave synthesis and material characterization of carbon and silver nanostructures, and completed an internship at Trinity College Dublin. Almut holds a Dr. rer. nat. in Materials Science/Nanotechnology and a Master of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from Friedrich Schiller University Jena.
