Krishna Ruparelia is currently the Head of Operations at SGMF - The Society for Gas as a Marine Fuel since January 2014. Prior to this role, Krishna worked in hospitality at Banana Tree Restaurants ltd from June 2011 to January 2014, and in IT consultancy at Fivium from February 2009 to June 2011. Krishna holds a Diploma in Human Resources Development (CIPD Level 5) from Hammersmith & West London College, a PRINCE2® Foundation Certificate in Project Management from PeopleCert, and a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy from the UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy.

SGMF is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) established to promote safety and industry best practice in the use of gaseous marine fuels. The Society is the definitive information resource for the industry. The Society has Consultative Status with the IMO and is governed by a representative Board and driven by three principal Committees. SGMF has several working groups at any one-time solving issues and producing outputs such as Guidelines and checklists for the industry. The Society has produced twelve ISBN publications and has around 150 international members ranging from oil majors, port authorities, fuel suppliers through to equipment manufacturers and classification societies.
