Ovia Thirukkumaran

Ovia Thirukkumaran, PhD, serves as a Secure Data Manager for Clinical Trials at SGS since January 2021, overseeing complex global clinical trials and acting as a Subject Matter Expert in secure clinical data processes. Prior to this role, Ovia was a Scientific Researcher and PhD student at KU Leuven, where advanced microscopic and biochemical techniques were developed for oncological studies, along with mentoring students and collaborating with external researchers. Ovia also contributed to teaching and faculty councils, playing a key role in improving educational practices. Previous experiences include a student research position focused on drug delivery systems and a visiting scholar role at the University of Michigan Medical School. Ovia holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Biotechnology, a Master's in Biophysics, and a Bachelor's in Biotechnology, complemented by a foundation in business development.
