Katherine Taketomo

Katherine Taketomo is an experienced educational leader currently serving as the Middle School Division Head at Shady Hill School since July 2024. Previously, Katherine held multiple roles at Berkeley Carroll School from June 2014 to July 2024, including Assistant Director of the Middle School, Middle School Dean of Innovation and Learning, and 7th Grade Dean. Additional experience includes advisory and facilitative roles with the Teacher Training Center and the National SEED Project, as well as a background in service learning with World Leadership School. Katherine's educational credentials include a Master of Education in Independent School Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master's in Middle School Humanities from Lesley University. Katherine's foundational experiences also encompass roles as a strategic partnerships intern, alumnae relations chairman, and ESL tutor, alongside a background in design and layout at Columbia Daily Spectator.
