Shafira Sanggar Muslimah Clothing was initiated by Fenny Mustafa in 1989, as a contemporary answer to his concern about Muslim women's clothing being unattractive and, at that time, tending to be out of date. Shafira's name was inspired after she established prayers at the Salman Mosque, ITB. This name is taken from the word "Shaf" which means "Sturdy Line", Shafira is expected to be a solid line in preaching Islamic clothing to Muslim women.
