Sophia Cote

Sophia Cote has a wealth of experience in policy and communications. Sophia began their career in 2012 as a Public Sector Consulting Intern at KPMG, where they conducted research and analysis focused on improving management, outsourcing analysis for Bayer Pharmaceutical, and analysed accounting statements for hospitals in Germany and Switzerland. Sophia then moved on to APCO Worldwide as a Consultant and Project Associate, where they helped support and advise US companies doing business in Germany. In 2016, Sophia joined FleishmanHillard HighRoad (FHR) as a Senior Consultant, Director, and Associate Director of Government Relations and Strategic Communications. In 2019, they joined Lyft as Manager of Public Policy for both Canada and British Columbia, where they helped open the BC market for rideshare and advocated for a favourable legislative, regulatory and policy framework. Most recently, in 2021, Sophia became Head of Public Affairs, Canada at REEF, where they create a regulatory and legislative pathway for a new and disruptive business model while also protecting, enhancing, and promoting the brand across all major Canadian cities. In 2022, they were appointed Head of Policy and Communications at Shakepay.

Sophia Cote completed their Master of Public Policy from the Hertie School in 2014, with a focus on Economic Policy. Prior to this, they obtained a First Class Honours with distinction in Sophia'story and Political Science from St. Francis Xavier University in 2011.
