Marie O'Leary-Stark has extensive experience in education and instructional roles. Marie began their career in 1985 at the Shaker Heights City School District, where they served as a Math Specialist, Science Specialist, Instructional Coach, and Department Head. In 2003, they joined the Esc of Cuyahoga County as an Instructional Coach, a role they held until 2008. Concurrently, they worked as an Adjunct Instructor at Notre Dame College from 2003 to 2004 and at Cleveland State University from 1992 to 1994. O'Leary-Stark also gained experience in technology and instructional media, serving as the Director of Instruction Media and Computing Services at The Johns Hopkins University from 1988 to 1989.

Marie O'Leary-Stark's education history includes a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Curriculum and Instruction/Computer Education, which they obtained from John Carroll University between 1985 and 1988.
