Omar Malik is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the energy and technology sectors. Currently serving as Director at Shams Power (Private) Limited since March 2015, Omar oversees a distributed solar utility that provides energy cost savings to commercial and industrial customers across Pakistan. As Co-Founder of yieldWerx since January 2016, Omar is involved in developing a big data and AI-ML analytics platform aimed at optimizing semiconductor product yields, efficiency, and quality. Omar has also held the position of Director at PITCO since January 1998. Academically, Omar holds an MBA from INSEAD and a BSc in Economics from Georgetown University McDonough School of Business.

Shams Power is Pakistan based solar energy developer and project investor/owner pioneering the distributed solar model in Pakistan's Industrial and Commercial sectors on a Power Purchase Agreement basis. Established in 2015 by two of Pakistan's leading energy companies, PITCO and Orient Power, Shams Power has a growing portfolio of solar investments across Pakistan's Industrial and Commercial sectors. A further 50MW is under development. Shams Power is one of the first Pakistani companies to have received a Distribution License from the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) for distributed solar power sales. Shams Power's management team brings substantial experience in setting up and undertaking O&M of power projects. PITCO has set up over 3,500 MW of power generation to date, and Orient Power owns and operates over 550MW of thermal and solar power plants.
