Heather Hanson has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Heather currently holds a senior leadership role at Shannex Incorporated as the Vice President of Strategy and Brand. Previously, they served as the Vice President of Brand and Business Development at the same company. Prior to their time at Shannex, Heather was a Partner at PR Hive, where they contributed to the company's success for over two years. Heather also worked as the Chief of Public Engagement and Communications at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. Earlier in their career, Heather held various positions at Shannex Incorporated, including Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Brand and Director of Communications and Community Affairs. Heather also gained experience in the public sector as the Manager of Communications at the Nova Scotia Provincial Lotteries and Casino Corporation and as the Manager of Development & Communications at The Arthritis Society - NS Division. Heather began their career at Mount Saint Vincent University, where they served as the Program and Communications Coordinator. Prior to that, they worked as an Account Executive at First Affinity Capital Inc. Heather Hanson obtained a Master of Public Relations degree from Mount Saint Vincent University, with a completion year of 2011. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management from the same university, finishing in 2006. Additionally, Heather has obtained several certifications, including the Innovation Governance Program - Level 1 certification from the Innovation Governance Program in June 2023, the Certificate in Executive Leadership from Dalhousie Executive Education in December 2015, and the Certificate in Public Participation from the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) Australasia in September 2012.
