Philippe Rétornaz

Head of Software at Shape

Philippe Rétornaz has been working in the software industry since 2008. Philippe began their career at EPFL as a PhD student, where they were responsible for firmware and hardware development of the Marxbot and Handbot robots, as well as the Thymio and Thymio-II robots. Philippe was also the maintainer of the mx31moboard linux kernel port. In 2015, they joined Geosatis SA as the Head of Software and an R&D Engineer. Currently, they are the Head of Software at Shape (ShapeScale).

Philippe Rétornaz's education history includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) in Mobile Robotics from 2010 to 2014, a Master in Microengineering - Robotics from 2006 to 2008, a Master Project in Microengineering - Robotics from 2007 to 2008, and a Bachelor in Microengineering from 2003 to 2006, all from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne).
