Courtney Smith

SVP, Program Research, Innovation & Impact at Share Our Strength

As the Senior Vice President of the No Kid Hungry Center for Best Practices, Courtney oversees innovation, research, policy analysis, technical assistance and product development to support efforts to end childhood hunger across the country. She has extensive experience working on programs and policies to improve the well-being of low-income families and children.

Before joining Share Our Strength in 2008, Courtney was a senior policy analyst at the National Governors Association, where she provided technical assistance and consulting services to governors on a range of poverty and human services issues. Her other experience includes working with Berkeley Policy Associates, the Public Policy Institute of California, the Literacy Assistance Center of New York City and the Commission to Educate Girls in Guatemala.

Courtney has a Master in Public Policy from the University of California at Berkeley and a B.A. in English Literature and Women’s Studies from Grinnell College.
