Jennifer Alonso

Jennifer Alonso is an experienced mental health professional specializing in crisis intervention and behavioral health. Currently serving as a crisis response clinician at UC San Diego, Jennifer provides rapid response and in-field assessments for students, utilizing trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices. As an intake social worker at Sharp HealthCare, Jennifer conducts suicide and detox assessments for acute inpatient treatment. In addition to these roles, Jennifer offers short-term therapy for first responders through The Counseling Team International and has extensive experience in crisis intervention and treatment from previous positions with the San Diego County Sheriff's Department and Sierra Mental Wellness Group. Jennifer holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Chicago, a Master's degree in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy from the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology from California State University, Fullerton.
